Value in the wine world. most will tell you, it is to be found in the New World. France, especially with the tariffs imposed, is left for dead by many in search of bang-for-buck. The thing to remember about places like France is that there exists a lot of indigenous grape varieties grown primarily in small localities and despite the established quality and historical importance they remain under the radar. And here's a perfect example, a varietal Jacquère from the Savoie. This is a highly underrated grape and region and they absolutely deserve your attention. Very expressive aromas of various fruits like pear, lemon and peach along with some forest moss greet the nose. On the palate the wine has excellent nerve from its high acidity and is flat out delicious. A low abv of 11.5% completes the package and makes this a great brunch wine.
